Cancellation of rental
Cancellation by the renter
In case a KARAM user needs to cancel a car rental, they must do so at least 48 hours before the rental period begins. If the cancellation is made less than 48 hours before the rental period begins, KARAM may charge the user a cancellation fee.
If the user cancels the rental after the rental period has begun, they will still be charged for the full rental period and for any additional fees incurred during that period.
If the rental is canceled by the user or KARAM for any reason, the car owner will be notified and the car will be available for rental again. However, if the cancellation is made less than 48 hours before the rental period begins, the car owner may have lost potential rental income. Overall, KARAM's cancellation policy is designed to balance the needs of users and car owners, ensuring fair and transparent rentals for all parties involved.
Cancellation by the Owner
In case of cancellation by the owner of the car, KARAM will charge a penalty of 5% of the rental amount for the canceled period. This penalty aims to discourage car owners from canceling rentals, as this may have a negative impact on the experience of users and the platform's creditworthiness.
If the car owner has a high cancellation rate, KARAM may take additional measures such as terminating or suspending their profile. The threshold for suspension or termination may vary depending on various factors, but generally, a cancellation rate of 25% or more is considered high and may require additional measures.
It is important for car owners to fulfill their obligations and cancel rentals only when absolutely necessary, as cancellations can inconvenience users and lead to potential loss of rental income for the owner and KARAM. By maintaining a low cancellation rate, car owners can build trust with the platform and attract more users to rent their vehicles.
Force majeure
In case of cancellation of a car rental due to force majeure, KARAM's policy may vary depending on the circumstances. Events of force majeure are usually defined as unforeseeable circumstances beyond the control of the parties, such as natural disasters, strikes, or government actions.
If a force majeure event occurs and the rental cannot be fulfilled, KARAM may offer options such as rescheduling the rental for a later date or providing a full or partial refund to the user. It is important for the user and the car owner to contact KARAM support team immediately in case of a force majeure event.
Similarly, if the car owner is unable to provide the rental car due to force majeure, KARAM may waive all cancellation fees and work with the owner to find a solution. In these cases, KARAM's priority is to ensure a fair and transparent rental experience for all affected parties.
